Tier Tests, Demotions, and Points
Exactly what you need to do at each tier, what happens when you forfeit or dodge, and how we score points.
HT1 Test
LT1 → HT1
- Beat two opponents in the tier below you; do not let anyone get more than 6 rounds on you.
- Beat two opponents in the same tier as you with at least a 20-14 overall score.
- Beat the current HT1 player. Success steals their title.
LT1 Test
HT2 → LT1
- Beat four opponents in your tier with at least a 40-30 combined score.
- Match or beat the total score of 1-2 players in the target tier; earn at least 7 rounds on each.
HT2 Promotion
LT2 → HT2
- Beat two opponents in your tier with at least a 20-14 overall score.
- Match or beat the total score of two players in the target tier; earn at least 7 rounds on each.
Tier 2 Track
HT3 → LT2
- Beat two HT3 opponents without losing more than 7 rounds. If you take fewer than 7 rounds, you drop to LT3.
- Match or beat the total score of two players in the target tier; earn at least 7 rounds on each.
HT3 Testing
Testing for HT3
- Beat a LT3 Evaluation Tester 6-3 or better to earn a chance to test. Beating any HT3 tester (any score) also grants a test.
- Fight an assigned HT3 opponent in a First to 10; win to obtain HT3.
Replace missing opponents with lower-tier players and tighten the score margin leniency by 25% for each replacement.
If you were demoted to LT3 during your Tier 2 test, but the HT3 opponent who demoted you achieved Tier 2 within 10 days, you may retest by facing a current HT3. Score at least 7 rounds to regain your tier; normal cooldowns still apply and you cannot take a standard Tier 2 test.
T2+ Retirement & Peak Tiers
Holding, defending, and stepping back
Players at T2 or higher must defend their rank before their peak tier is applied. Inactive players who retire are shown at their peak tier on their profile; players without a peak tier are prioritized for match assignments.
- 2 rank defenses or 50+ days of holding the rank.
- Holding pauses when you are unable to fight in assigned tests.
- 35 days of inactivity since your last tier test.
- Retired display uses the highest tier you earned.
T2+ Demotions
Strike score system
Upon reaching T2 or better, you start with a strike score of 10. Every ranked fight (tests and defenses) adjusts that score by the round difference.
- Example: Winning 10-7 adds +3; losing to a lower-tier player adds the negative score difference plus an extra -3 penalty.
- If your strike score drops below 0, you are demoted. HT1 always sits at 0, so only one player can hold HT1.
Forfeits and Dodges
Penalties to know
- Forfeiting includes not starting a fight as tester/testee or leaving mid-test (all remaining rounds count as losses) and triggers a high strike penalty.
- Dodging is failing to run an assigned fight without a valid excuse. If you are LT2 or above, dodging costs -10 strike score.
- HT3 players: forfeiting your own test with fewer than 7 rounds on your first opponent causes a demotion to LT3. Any other forfeit is treated as a demotion-level offense.
- All testee forfeits trigger a 30-day testing cooldown.
Testing as Unranked or Below HT3
How to enter the queue
Join the wait-list and wait for a voluntary tester. When a tester is active, you will be pinged to join the queue. After you move through the queue, your testing ticket opens and your matches are assigned.

Points are awarded per gamemode; your total is the sum across all gamemodes. Moving tiers updates the points for that gamemode, and the leaderboard sorts strictly by the combined total.
- Passing, defending, or losing tests changes your tier, which immediately applies the mapped points for that gamemode.
